This week Laura Meyer Photography would like to feature the talented Chicago Floral designer Dahlia Blooms Design.
With the slow start to spring this year I thought we could take a minute and enjoy some beautiful spring floral designs by a very talented designer. Dahlia Blooms Design s a flower studio located in Portage Park in Chicago. They specialize in weddings and corporate events in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. They carry a variety of unique plants and flowers from all over the world. I asked Beata, the owner of Dahlia Blooms Design to give me some advice to offer to couples who are getting married and looking for floral accents for their wedding decor. She told me it is important when picking out flowers for your wedding day that you pick out flowers that complement your style and vision for the big day.
There are so many beautiful flowers that you can choose for your Spring and Summer weddings. Lily of the Valley, Hyacinth, Lilacs, Anemones, and Peonies are amongst our favorite flowers to work with during Spring. These flowers have a wonderful scent and come in a variety of colors. Keep in mind that certain flowers like Peonies and Hydrangea tend to cost more. A tip to keep your cost down is to include greenery in your arrangements to make them look fuller and lush. We have done many weddings this past year which included bouquets and garlands made of greenery with pops of flowers. We like to use a mixture of greens to create texture and variety.
A lot of people shy away from color, but we always tell people to not be afraid to go bold. The colors show up great in your photos and definitely pop in your venue. Some favorite colors that we love to work with are coral, burgundy, purple, and yellow. There are endless possibilities that we can help with to choose the perfect color palette for your day.
Fall and Winter weddings have so many great jewel tone flowers to work with along with berries, branches, pods, and leaves. Some favorites are dahlias, cosmos, pepperberry, dusty miller, scabiosa, and bayleaf. Pillar Candles and votives also go great with flowers and greenery. They create a warm and inviting atmosphere for your guests. You can never have too many at your venue. Rental items are also available including vases and mercury votives. We can help you pick out your favorite colors and flowers that go with your venue and help you with ideas that will be stress-free. Many couples tell us that we are their favorite vendor and are really flexible to work with. Weddings are stressful enough, we want to make it as easy as possible!
