Let’s talk about entertainment at your wedding. This week we are doing a vendor spotlight on Backthird Entertainment.
Backthird Entertainment includes seven DJs, two string ensembles, and two jazz ensembles – plus more than a dozen assistant DJs.Each of their performers is unique, with his or her own personal style and taste. But no one is irreplaceable: Musicians have understudies, and we have a backup DJ on call every night we work a wedding. That’s how they ensure that even in emergencies, you’ll have a Backthird performer taking care of you. They are not a “contractor” or a “booking agent;” they are an entertainment business. As photographers, we do a lot of planning with couples for the beginning of their big day. Some couples hire “day of coordinators” who will help them with the day of situations and alleviate some of the stress of doing things the day of the wedding – which I HIGHLY recommend hiring a Day of Coordinator aka DOC for your wedding so you can have a stress free day!
However, we still like to help you plan for the pictures, even if you have a DOC. We want to make sure we have enough time to capture all the important moments of your day and get to you must have photo locations. We can also offer lots of great advice on your wedding day in pictures, tips, and tricks or foresee any problems with the schedule before the big day. We desire to have the picture part of your wedding day be a flawless stress-free and fun experience. Photography is SO important to our couples, they hire us because they trust that we will capture their day so they can relive the moments and memories forever!! It’s your wedding day, you should have so much fun, be relaxed and trust that the professionals you hire will be just that – professionals.
That is why I only recommend other professionals in the wedding industry that I trust will do an exceptional job. That brings in who you trust for your wedding entertainment is so important to the flow of your wedding reception, and not to mention any sound or music you need during an onsite ceremony. A little about them….Backthird Entertainment had already been in business for years when they decided to call a bunch of former couples and ask them about getting married and all the planning that went into it. These were past clients, but I didn’t ask about the DJs and musicians that Backthird provided, they just asked what the wedding planning felt like.
They all told me the same thing: “Our wedding was amazing. But the planning part was work because we’d didn’t know the things we didn’t know.” Backthird Entertainment thought you’re right. It’s not enough to play your music – you need experts. You need someone in your corner who can tell you if a trio or a quartet fits your venue better, whether toasts go best before or during dinner, and which songs just will not work to fill your dance floor. You need someone who knows what you don’t, and who can use that knowledge to help you do what you want. So they revamped the business, and they just do that now. Backthird has DJs and musicians, sound and lighting. But we really just provide experts. We’re trying to make it as easy as possible for you to be as happy as possible at your wedding. The last wedding that LMP worked with Backthird Entertainment was a SUPER fun Chicago wedding at Salvage One.
