Starved Rock State Park Lodge Wedding Photographer captures a beautiful Labor Day wedding!
I was so excited to be asked to photography Erica and Ian’s wedding! As a new Starved Rock State Park Lodge Wedding Photographer, I did some research with the couple to find some great spots for pictures in the park that were both easy to get to and had beautiful scenery and light. The couple really liked the Overhang Council area for the wedding party and the romantic bride and groom portraits. We choose two perfect spots to capture some amazing portraits!! We even choose to do the first look out in the canyon! It was EPIC and was the favorite moment that Erica and Ian both shared on the wedding day! We had the unbelievably beautiful weather for all the portraits and the outdoor ceremony.
Erica and Ian choose to do all their portraits before the ceremony so that they could attend most of the cocktail hour and celebrate with all the family and friends that made the trip to Starved Rock State Park Lodge for the wedding celebrations! The party was so much fun! Everyone was dancing the night away! If they could change anything about their day, they would have told wedding party and family to be ready an hour earlier since time was tight and ran late, but we still got amazing pictures. I always say we have to roll with the flow on the actual wedding day and not get stressed. We had to change how we did the first look, but it ended up being so perfect. We decided the day of the wedding to do a lot of pictures in that canyon. This allowed us to be able to catch up on our time and still get all the amazing portraits that we had planned.
Erica and Ian would like to offer this advice to other couples who are getting married as it was offered to them by married couples. “Everyone says to take a step back together on your wedding day and really look at everything and enjoy your moment. We did this a couple of times and it was great advice because it really does flash right before your eyes!”
I loved that they did a butterfly release during their ceremony, it was magical! This is my favorite image from the wedding day! Congratulations Erica and Ian!! Thank you for letting us be your Starved Rock State Park Lodge Wedding Photographer. We wish you nothing but love and laughter as you begin your happily ever after!!
Special THANK YOU to the amazing team of vendors, including the catering and staff from Starved Rock Lodge who made Erica and Ian’s day so special.
Erica and Ian want to personally thank Adrianne at Maven Makeup Artistry & Salon for her outstanding customer service. She was sent to the wrong room, set up and then found out that we were getting ready somewhere else and without hesitation packed up her stuff and came to us. She would like to thank Laura Meyer Photography for keeping our schedule on track with all the beautiful pictures that needed to be taken and Taka from Vivid Visual for roughing it through the rough terrain to get his shots. Finally, she would like to thank DJ Bobby Styles for keeping the party going with the awesome music selections, Joyce from Costco for amazing florals, and the fun photo booth from BlooperZ Entertainment.
Very Nice, laura!
Thank you!
