Newberry Library Chicago Wedding :: Stephanie and Chris

Newberry Library Chicago Wedding filled with elegance and charm!

Stephanie and Chris choose the historic Newberry Library Chicago Wedding for their reception. They choose to host a perfect sunset ceremony at Washington Square Park across from the library and follow immediately with cocktails and celebrations.  We did all the important photography before the wedding ceremony so that the happy couple could immediately join their guests in celebrating their union as two families became one. This is something I always recommend if there isn’t much time between the ceremony and the start of cocktail hour. A stress-free wedding day is so much better than feeling rushed. Anyways, superstitions are super silly and it is NOT bad luck for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony. I think it is actually good luck because the wedding day goes fast and you want to spend as much time together as possible. After all, it is your wedding day.

I really enjoyed all the personal touches that they brought to their wedding day, including a sign made with 1000 paper cranes that Stephanie folded and Chris’s grandmother created for them. It was displayed at the reception and was a complete work of art! I also enjoyed viewing all the collection of items that Stephanie and Chris had picked out during their traveling adventures together over the year.  Some very beautiful and fun objects!! It made the wedding very personal and tied together the table number cities as a theme of the wedding, that was both subtle and charming. It was a perfect evening for a wedding for such a sweet couple!

I asked the happy couple two questions after the wedding. First, if they had any advice for other couples getting married? Second, if they would change anything about their wedding day and do something different what would that be? Here is what Stephanie and Chris replied concerning their Newberry Library Chicago Wedding. They LOVED having a sweetheart table, they were able to talk intimately together and observe everyone during dinner who had come to celebrate with them. There were also so happy that they did a first look and most of the formal portraits before the ceremony so that they could socialize during cocktail hour and enjoy themselves. The only thing that they wished they did differently was to have made sure that the live band played their first dance song the same way as the recording they practiced with; since they did a choreographed song.  I did not notice a thing and thought they did perfectly!! It was a great dance!!

Another favorite moment from this Newberry Library Chicago Wedding was when Chris and Stephanie dancing at the end of the night when only our closest friends and family were left. They danced to Love Train with all of their friends and family dancing in a circle around them. This was quite a party and there was a lot of fun dancing going on all night long, thanks to amazing entertainment provided by the David Rothstein Band!
