From the Ace Hotel, we headed downtown for some fun Chicago scenic river, bridge and architecture portraits. The sunlight that afternoon was magical, the only good thing about daylight savings. We had a blast riding in the trolley with the wedding party, what a fun group of friends!! No one was complaining even with the unseasonably chilly temps for a mid-November wedding. Our motto – you can’t see cold, so smile and have fun!
It was then time to head to Salvage One Chicago for the wedding and party. I asked Jenny and Alex what their favorite moment from the wedding day was. Alex told me “the time with just me and Jenny after the ceremony in the bridal suite. Us just hanging out and being able to look at each other and say ‘did that really just happen?!?’. It was a really great moment to snap out of the wedding nervousness and realize why you’re getting married in the first place: to spend the rest of your life with your favorite person.”
How sweet is that!!
Jenny told me that her favorite moment from her Salvage One Chicago wedding was a combination of things. She told me “that we made little things of the day special moments to us- our first dance song, spending time w/our friends on the trolley before the ceremony. Also, the time with each other after the ceremony. It was special to spend time just the 2 of us, eat the yummy appetizers & take a couple of first official selfies as a married couple. Leading up to the day, so many people told me how fast time would go that day, so I tried really hard to make a conscious effort to be mindful of the present moment throughout the day. “
