Ravisloe Country Club Weddings are some of my favorite weddings of the season, and I was excited to capture Amanda and Tim’s summer wedding there this August. Amanda and Tim had met years ago at Ravisloe Country Club as golf caddy’s so this was a special place for them, a place full of memories of first kisses and time spent together working during the summer breaks from school. Needless to say Ravisloe is beautiful so there is never a need to go somewhere else for pictures. Amanda and Tim did do a first look privately and then we did some fun pictures of the two love birds around the club grounds before meeting up with the wedding party and family for more formal portraits. before we knew it was time to get married out on the back patio and have a party!! It was a perfectly beautiful summer afternoon, not a cloud in the sky!
I asked the happy couple about their Ravisloe Country Club wedding day. Amanda shared her favorite moment was doing the private first look. ” The best moment for me was finally seeing Tim during our first look. I hadn’t seen him the night before, and it was a very long and stressful morning, but I immediately felt better as soon as I took Tim’s hand and was by his side.” Both Amanda and Tim recommend doing a first look. Tim told me “The first look was a very good idea. On a practical note, doing the first look and pictures beforehand freed up time after the ceremony to enjoy our cocktail hour. But in another sense, getting a chance to see my bride before the ceremony allowed me to hold it together during the ceremony. If the first time I saw her in her dress was when her father walked her down the aisle, I wouldn’t have held it together through the rest of the ceremony.” Amanda shared “I would recommend doing a first look. Throughout the entire wedding you will be pulled in a million different directions and you rarely have a moment to yourselves. I’m very glad that we we’re able to experience the most intimate moment privately.”
Tim shared with me that his favorite moment was: “The ceremony processional. As the groom, I was the first one at the altar and had a front row seat to see all our friends and family walk down the aisle to help us celebrate.”
Both Tim and Amanda only change one thing from their wedding day: “Have a videographer film the ceremony! Of all the advice we received, no one really stressed how important this would be. We didn’t want one because we didn’t think we needed the reception on film, but we didn’t consider the ceremony. As the bride, I wasn’t able to see the procession. I was the last one in and the first one out. When you’re saying your vows you feel nervous and it’s a bit of an out of body experience, so you’ll definitely want to be able to go back and watch it later. The next morning we seriously regretted that we didn’t ask anyone to film the ceremony for us.” I hope when they get to see all the amazing pictures that my team captured it will help them relieve the moment again. I do think video and still photos are both important on the big day!
As a Ravisloe Country Club Wedding Photographer my favorite part of Amanda and Tim’s wedding was taking them out during the end of dinner for some amazing sunset pictures. They were really into getting some amazing portraits of the and the light was so pretty!! They were also great about going out for a second time before we ended our photography coverage for a fun night time portrait. I LOVE when couples let us work with the magic light and get some beautiful moments for them. Most of the time the wedding pictures are scheduled for the middle of the day and the light is not soft and pretty in the sky. Capturing a fun night time picture is also a must have!
