Venue 5126 Summer Loving Wedding :: Maddie and Alex
I LOVE photographing Weddings at Venue 5126!! I was super excited about Maddie and Alex’s July wedding, as they are just such a fun and sweet couple!! Everything was at Emerson, so we met with the bride and groom before the ceremony for getting ready and all the formal and fun wedding portraits, so that they could enjoy cocktail hour and the celebration that was for them! It was a beautiful summer day sunny with warm, but not hot, weather. So much emotion and light-hearted fun during every moment of the day, which made capturing the memories that much more special for us and included a lot of laughing by everyone and really fun wedding party portraits! After all, you shouldn’t take life too seriously and laughter is the best medicine for nerves on the wedding day!
I loved all the special touches that Maddie and Alex had planned for the wedding, but my favorite were the ceremony doors that were placed outside and that Maddie and Alex used to read their wedding vows to each other before they even saw each other that day. It was so special and made the first look and first time they would see each other before the wedding ceremony so full of love and so amazing!! They were also an important and symbolic part of the ceremony and added such a nice detail to the background of the ceremony pictures. This was my first Emerson Creek pottery barn wedding ceremony in the field and it was so beautiful!!
It makes me very happy when couples trust us to get them some romantic portraits at various times of the night, after the scheduled portrait time. We were able to go out to the field and get some beautiful evening clouds, a gorgeous sunset, and then a couple of fun night portraits too. The fun continued well into the night with dancing, s’mores over the fire pit, star gazing, and a lot of love and laughter all around! Congratulations Maddie and Alex, thank you for letting us capture your beautiful wedding memories for you. We wish you so much happiness together as you begin your happily ever after! <3
Alex told me “My favorite moment was our first look. We choose to read our “personal vows” to just each other at this moment rather than in front of our families. The moment of both listening to Maddie’s vows and reading my own was the true moment of reality for what the day represented, the past that got us here, the significance of the day, and the future that we were going to share together, and all the emotions and small milestones that lead to that moment. It was amazing and so personal. Our wedding was a mix of intimacy and the celebration of our union and love. I felt it enhanced the experience of seeing her come to me at the altar as we had shared such an intimate moment not long before. “
I had never remembered seeing this sign at Emerson before, not sure if it is new or I just never noticed it, but when I did see it I instantly heard Maddie’s voice saying “Yay!! You’re here!!” to all her friends and family so we had to get s fun portrait of her by the sign!!
Alex shared some really good thoughts about his experience planning for an Emerson Creek Pottery Barn Wedding. “My best advice for those looking for a wedding similar to ours (with a group of friends and family, 90ish in our case), is to take the time to research the people who you are hiring. We took the time to find a location that didn’t just look “perfect” but provided the services we needed and wanted. We checked if we would like the food. We checked reviews and portfolios before hiring the DJ videographer and photographer (and believe me we got the BEST photographer). Taking the time to do these parts rights means the party will be AWESOME. And if you can have a coordinator and/or designer or anyone else who can professionally help you, do it! It is worth the peace of mind and get it off your plate.” I have to agree, if your venue doesn’t provide coordination help, you should consider hiring a DOC (Day of Coordinator). The last thing you want is to be worrying about little things and details on your wedding day! I have a few amazing coordinators that I would be happy to recommend!
