I just absolutely LOVE photographing a Medinah Country Club Wedding!! It is such a beautiful venue and golf club. We had a beautiful sun-filled day for Christine and David’s wedding day, picture-perfect! I started the day off at Christine’s parents’ home for some getting ready and backyard portraits. They had a beautiful home and plenty of great photo spots. I think it is so special when both mom and dad are there with their daughter before the wedding ceremony. We captured some lovely portraits of them together before leaving for church.
This is by far the most adorable church I have photographed at this year! It is the original chapel that is next to David’s families church St Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church. This little chapel has so much charm, not to mention bright amazing light! I asked both Christine and David what their favorite moments from the wedding day were. They agreed that they didn’t even know where to start!! :) Christine told me that one of her favorite moments was “walking down the aisle with her father and seeing my husband for the first time.”
David and Christine both told me that another favorite moment was when they got to be alone for five minutes at the reception to just talk and be together. David also told me one of his favorite memories was “at one point Christine asked someone “can my husband come in?” That was the first time she had ever said it and it really hit me at that time. It was really special.”
Another favorite memory from their Medinah Country Club Wedding was “having some time in the ballroom before anyone else could go in there. Seeing all the planning and hard work put together it was just magical and made me cry.” Not to mention the amazing point of view that I was able to capture them in during this moment!! They off couples who are getting married some simple advice: “Slow down and enjoy it. Everyone told me that and it was hard to do but you just need to make that time. Make sure at some point during the reception to find a moment to be just the two of you. We had that chance and I look back and cherish it so much. Once the RSVP’s come in and if you still have an available headcount, don’t hesitate to add people at that time if you want them there. “
Having two photographers at this Medinah Country Club Wedding made it possible to capture different points of view. I love the contrast between my second photographer’s Deonna’s birds-eye-view to my point of view. The rest of the party was so much fun, we did some sunset portraits and an evening portrait and ended the evening with some fun sparklers pictures!!
