I was SO excited to finally have a Redfield Estate wedding at the Grove in Glenview, it is such a beautiful place!! Lauren and Lee had done an amazing job with the planning and details for the wedding, both being architects they left no detail unplanned. It was amazing! We started off the afternoon with Lauren and Lee getting ready at the Redfield Estate. Then meeting up in the grounds of The Grove for a private first look and wedding party pictures. It was a beautiful June day, not a cloud in the sky and magical sunlight in the surrounding wooded areas. A photographer’s dream!
I LOVE smaller intimate wedding parties, we have a chance to catch fun moments and it is less stressful for everyone!
Lauren and Lee both told me that their favorite moments from the wedding day was the wedding ceremony. Even with doing a first look, which they told me they “loved doing because the ceremony was already very emotional. If it had been the first time we saw each other, we think it might have been too much for us to handle!” Lee said he LOVED hearing Lauren’s vows for the first time at the altar and Lauren said that she “loved the very personal and thought-provoking words our pastor had prepared for our ceremony. Walking down the aisle as a bride is also just a once-in-a-lifetime experience that was unlike anything I could have imagined.” I have to agree, this was one of the most personal and emotional wedding ceremonies I have captured this season. It was very special and thoughtful!
I just really loved all the details, many of which were designed by Lauren and Lee, and some included elements from the Redfield Estate or reflected their shared love of architecture!
I really love it when couples are into getting pictures during different parts of the night. A Redfield Estate wedding day has such amazing locations and the light changes at different times of the day. We took Lauren and Lee out during the midday for the planned wedding pictures. Then just the two of them came out at sunset golden light hour and again right after dusk for the evening night portraits. I really appreciate the opportunity to capture some amazing portraits of the couple to cherish as a lifetime of memories!
Lauren and Lee told me that they would offer other couples the advice to take time with each other during the wedding to get away, even from the photographer! Talk with each other, breathe, and just cherish the moments. If they could have done something different, it would be to communicate expectations to our families a bit better. We were lucky enough to have extremely supportive families that didn’t impose their own ideas on our day. We later realized that they still had some expectations of us that hadn’t been explicitly stated, and vice versa, which created some temporary tension.”
Overall this wedding went so smoothly and it was outdoors for all elements of the day. I am so happy that Lauren and Lee were blessed with such amazing weather for their wedding day! Everyone was having an amazing time! Congratulations Lauren and Lee! Thank you for letting me capture your moments and memories. I wish you nothing but love and laughter as you begin your happily ever after!
So many amazing vendors to give a big shout out to!! THANK YOU for all your help and hard work to make Lauren and Lee’s wedding day picture perfect!!
