Starve Rock State Park Intimate Wedding :: Serenity and Troy

I absolutely LOVE going to Starve Rock for weddings. When Serenity reached out to me to capture their elopement to Starve Rock in August, I was thrilled. They decided to elope just the two of them and get married at the lodge with some intimate portraits around the park with just me capturing all the wedding memories. It was so romantic and intimate and a picture-perfect summer evening! The only bump in the road was that a week before Chicagoland was hit by multiple tornados and the trails at the Starve Rock canyons we were planning to go to were closed. We were referred to Buffalo Rock State Park and I found some amazing spots for pictures so it was just a last-minute change of portrait location that worked out so perfectly well you would never even know!

I asked Serenity and Troy what their favorite moment was from their wedding day. Troy told me “My favorite part of the day was watching Serenity walk down the aisle in her beautiful dress. It really was an amazing moment that I will never forget. I was so excited to become her husband.” Serenity told me “”My favorite part of the day was exchanging our vows to each other. I knew from the beginning of this wedding process that I wanted to write my own vows to Troy and he agreed. I felt like it was such an intimate moment that we shared. I will never forget how happy and excited I felt at that moment.”
