I was so excited to photograph Natalie and Brian’s Oak Brook Wedding at the fabulous Gibson’s in Oak Brook, it seemed like just yesterday that we were taking engagement pictures together in Lincoln Park – but that was nearly a year before! I had the privilege to photography one of Natalie’s cousins wedding a few years back and I always appreciate referrals!! We had a wonderful plan for the wedding day, we would do getting ready separately at Le Meridien Hotel before heading to my favorite park Fullersburg Nature Center in Oak Brook for the first look and wedding party pictures. After a couple hours of pictures it was time to head back to Gibson’s in Oak Brook for the ceremony and party! What a fun wedding!! Great music and dancing, fun photobooth and laughing all around!! A perfect celebration of two families becoming one.
I asked Natalie and Brian to share what their favorite moment from the wedding day was. Natalie told me, “my favorite part of the entire day was the 30 minutes after the ceremony where Brian and I got to sit together and revel in the fact that we were husband and wife. We got to sip on our favorite drinks and enjoy appetizers just the two of us.” Brian told me “my favorite part was being able to have all our family friends together and feeling their happiness and joy for us.”
Can’t argue with that, those are some great moments.
As the photographer, my favorite moment was definitely the first look between Natalie and Brian at Fullersburg nature center. It worked out so perfectly and resulted in some genuine smiles and such a beautiful moment between just the bride and groom with only photographers documenting it from a distance. This is one of the reasons that I NEVER photograph a wedding alone, it is too hard to capture every angle. My amazing second photographer did a great job complimenting my angles, Deonna – we make a great team!! :)
