Hyatt McDonalds Lodge Oak Brook Wedding Photographer captures a Romantic spring wedding with vintage charm.
Hyatt McDonalds Lodge in Oak Brook is one of my favorite venues and I was so excited to capture Dawn and Robert wedding there in the beautiful month of May. I met Dawn a few years ago at her sister Julie’s wedding and was so excited that it was her turn to tie the knot to a handsome and kind man named Robert. I just knew we would have an amazing time capture all the memories and moments for these two love birds. It was a perfect spring day, not a cloud in the sky and we had the beautiful grounds at the Oak Brook Hyatt McDonalds Lodge for our portraits and creative photography. Starting the day with some getting ready right before the ceremony at the St Mary Gostyn in Downers Grove, we capture moments of love and vintage details that Dawn had carefully selected for her wedding day. From the church, we headed out to the Lodge and Dawn and Robert were going to be traveling in style!! Dawn’s father was a collector of vintage cars, and there would be no better way to remember him than to ride in his vintage white Rolls Royce from the ceremony to the reception. Once at the Hyatt Lodge we were able to have a little time alone with Dawn and Robert, capturing some romantic moments of them together. Then we were able to capture some formal and informal portraits of family and wedding party surrounded by the beautiful green wooded landscape that the Grand Oaks Pavillion room was situated in. This is the best party room at the Hyatt Lodge, it has unbelievable views of nature that are just so pretty!! Cocktail hour at sunset on the patio was breathtaking, and the florals and decor in the Grand Oak Pavillion room at the Hyatt Lodge were so romantic. All the little details planned came together so perfectly, for a night not soon to forget!!
The most memorable part of the wedding for Dawn was when she first saw Robert as she walked down the aisle. “It was finally at that moment that the I was able to feel the reality of the situation. All the stress of planning and getting ready for the wedding day melted away at that very moment. It felt as if it was only him and me. I felt truly and completely happy.”
We absolutely love doing portraits in outdoor environments, they are more relaxed and we are able to capture some of the in-between moments on the wedding day during the very important formal portraits. The snuggles, hugs, and kisses that come from your nearest and dearest family members are so real and really show personality. I love these authentic portraits with the two mothers and the siblings sharing a moment with Dawn and Robert.
Dawn shared with me that the best advice she received is that once the wedding starts, to just relax and enjoy it. “I heard that same advice from so many people and really took it to heart. Everything is so stressful leading up to the wedding that I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to do it. I kept telling myself that once the wedding starts, I just need to let go and enjoy. I am happy to say, I did it. Was everything perfect? No. Did it matter? No. The only thing that mattered was that I was marrying a man I truly loved, believed in, and trusted with my entire heart and soul. Despite all the things that may not have gone exactly right, the wedding was perfect.” I have to agree, this is great advice!!
Sparkler exits at weddings are my favorite!! If considering having sparklers at your wedding make sure to check with the venue, as not all venues will allow them. Also, you will want to plan to purchase the extra long sparklers, they make smokeless ones too so that you can have plenty of time to exit, kiss and the photography team can capture some amazing memories for you!!
Congratulations Dawn and Robert!! We wish you nothing but love and laughter as you begin your happily ever after!!
Thanks so much to all the amazing vendors that came together to make Dawn and Robert’s day unforgettable!!
