I was very excited to photograph at Ovation Chicago for Jody and Louis’s Spring Wedding. As a Chicago Wedding Photographer, I had not photographed any events at this west side venue before. I love the lofty open spaces, exposed brick and the industrial look that creates an urban chic wedding event. Jody and Louis’s wedding was filled with so many amazing details, including a classic 1952 Pontiac Woodie from her father’s personal collection.
The church was the historic St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Oak Park, and the service was very sweet and a little funny! The part of the day that was the most anticipated and a favorite shared moment by the couple was when they first saw each other at the ceremony as Jody walked down the aisle and Louis was at the altar waiting for her. The only way we were able to capture both those moments was to have two photographers documenting this amazing wedding day. After a few family portraits, it was time to leave for Goose Island Brewery for some bride and groom portraits! This was a highlight in Louis and Jody’s wedding day, as they love touring breweries together and have seen many around the country in their travels. We had a personal tour at the Fulton Street Goose Island Brewery by Aaron, it was really cool!! I think that these portraits will be so personal to the happy couple and some great memories. As a Chicago wedding photographer, the brewery portraits are some of my personal favorites!
From there it was time to join the party at Ovation. Cocktail hour was in full swing and it was time to get seated for a wonderful dinner catered by Jewell Events Catering. Purple and pink florals by Bella Floral and entertainment by Style Matters. It was an amazing wedding day and a fabulous party! Thank you, Jody and Lou, for letting us capture your special day. We wish you nothing but love and laughter as you begin your happily ever after. Congratulations!!
