Sarah and Chris had a beautiful winter wedding last weekend, with amazing sunshine to mask the chilly air temperature – but I don’t think they felt a thing. Love warmed them both! With winter weddings, I always strongly suggest that couples do a first look and we can do portraits before the ceremony since it is dark by 4pm this time of year in Chicago. We did getting ready in two different locations and then met at my favorite park in Oak Brook for the first look and wedding pictures before heading to the St. Leonard’s Catholic Church on Berywn for the traditional ceremony. After the church service it was dark, so we decided to do some intimate twinkle light portraits of just the bride and groom in Downtown La Grange. Then more night portraits at the William Tell Banquets in Countryside before joining cocktail hour and having a party to celebrate!! It was such a fun wedding and a beautiful couple!! Congratulations Sarah and Chris! I wish you nothing but love and laughter as you begin your happily ever after!!
I asked Sarah and Chris a few questions about their day:
1. What was your favorite moment or part of your wedding day?
Chris’s favorite part was getting introduced at the wedding reception and having all of our family and friends just truly be so happy for us, and getting introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Chris Marsik.
Sarah’s favorite part of the day was “when the priest announced us as husband and wife. There was something truly magical about that moment. I also LOVED spending time taking pictures afterward just the two of us. It was great to have some time to just soak in being married and being alone before heading into the reception. But honestly, there were so many wonderful moments of the day is truly is hard to pick just one!”
I asked the happy couple if they had any advice for couples getting married. They said “Your wedding day will truly be magical. Try to be present in every moment, and let yourself feel what you feel. You will laugh and cry, and you will do it at moments you don’t expect it to happen. It’s an awesome day having everyone you love in one room together who are all so happy for you.”
