Julie + Ryan + amazing DIY details = one fantastic wedding with all the perfect touches! I met Julie and Ryan for the first time in San Antonio Texas this past January for their engagement session, they were so sweet and we were instant friends. We had spoke on the phone and I was really excited to hear all their plans in person for their June wedding at one of my favorite venues, Danada House in Wheaton. Kate, my lovely assistant and I started the day off with getting ready photos. Danada House has special groom and bridal suites, so it makes doing photos of preparation so relaxed and fun. We had so much time before the ceremony for relaxed photos. Julie and Ryan choose to do a first look and all the family and wedding photos before their ceremony so they could enjoy cocktail hour with all their guests. We had a perfect day for photos, not a cloud in the sky – it was amazing! After a few hours of photos and many amazing photos later, it was time for the garden ceremony followed by cocktail hour and then dinner. Being a musician, Ryan was excited to have his family and friends play and participate as important parts to the wedding day, music was a very special part of their wedding celebration. During Cocktail hour there was fantastic live Jazz music, followed by a band and a fun DJ during the reception. Matter of fact, so many family and friends helped Julie and Ryan with all their special wedding day details, from homemade candy and cookies, specially brewed beer, dozens of fun blue vases, also music arranged by Ryan himself….there wasn’t a single detail left out to make this day special.
