Fisherman’s Inn in Elburn is such a cool venue, I was so excited to photograph Jessica and Chris’s May wedding on a beautiful spring afternoon. This venue has both rustic charm and romantic settings for beautiful portraits for a sweet couple and spring wedding. We started the day off with getting ready of the bride and groom, which was all at Fisherman’s Inn and made the day’s timeline seamless and allowed more time for pictures, which makes for a happy photographer.
Jessica and Chris choose to do a private first look before the ceremony. By seeing each other before the ceremony we are able to do some intimate portraits before meeting up with the wedding party for some fun group portraits. By doing a lot of portraits before the ceremony, the bride and groom are able to go to the cocktail hour and enjoy a party honoring them, that they are hosting with their families. Wedding days go by so fast, the more time you can save on things like travel and formal portraits the more fun you will have. Doing things before the ceremony allowed for a bunch of time for beautiful portraits of the bride and groom all over the large grounds of Fisherman’s Inn.

I just love the Mother of the Groom’s DIY purse insert – how cute is that a classic picture of Mother and Son to carry with her all night as she gives her baby boy away to start a new life with his beautiful bride!! She also was helpful with getting the bride into her gorgeous wedding gown!
I LOVE moments that happen during “first looks” they are always the sweetest most organic moments. Melt my heart, from laughter to snuggles, soooo much love between these two!! Just the way he looks at her…..
Just as the ceremony began, the clouds party way from the overcast afternoon we were having to allow for some pretty evening sunlight to flood the ceremony site with magical light!
I ALWAYS work with a second photographer, this allows us to not only make sure we capture all the special moments of your wedding day, but also different angles. Here are two that Mark and I captured at the same time, mine is the kiss and Mark’s did the fun personality picture of Jess and Chris as well as a fun wedding party post-ceremony picture which I think showcases the excitement of a ceremony just finished, a happy couple wed and the minutes until the party would start and cocktails and dancing would be flowing throughout the evening hour!!
Such a fun party, lots of LOVE and Laughter all around and DANCING the night away. Congratulations Jessica and Chris, thank you for allowing us to capture your beautiful wedding day. We wish you nothing but love and laughter as you begin your happily ever after and this amazing journey of life together as husband and wife, with your fur babies too, of course. :)
