WoooHooo!! I had a busy weekend, Three engagement sessions in two days, all fabulous couples and three completely different locations……there are some amazing pics, I am excited to get all the images finished and online to share. This post is right in time for the holidays, and editing their session today put me in the holiday spirit. Carissa and Matt had a very fun and festive engagement session downtown in Chicago. We explored the streets, visited the big tree in Daley center and other festively decorated parks. We got lucky to find this hilarious group of about 50 Santas and elves that were out parading the streets and parks celebrating the holiday spirit. I did have to embarrass this super sweet – and slightly on the shy side - couple by announcing their engagement via one Santa’s megaphone …that got the Santa’s going ( I think some of them may have dipped into the holiday egg nog pre-parade, lol;) These are my favorite shots from the day, too funny!! You can just feel the laughter )) Happy Holidays and Congratulations Carissa and Matt, I look forward to your spring wedding next March!!

Nicole and Jason are Engaged!! :: A Philadelphia Engagement Session

In mid November I took a small trip to Philly and met Nicole and Jason for an engagement session. I had so much fun photographing in a city I did not know, it was both exciting and challenging. We explored, on foot and the subway, a handful of the sweet photo spots for some unique and creative portraits. We had a beautiful day, 70 degrees in November and fantastic sunshine that really showed off the last of the fall colors. We started on South street, which is the neighborhood that Nicole and Jason live in, from there we walked towards the city center, finding all kinds of interesting spots along the way. Of course we also had to hit the historic city hall and the famous Love Sculpture…Philly trademarks! I could not ask for a better day or a better couple!! Here are some of my favorites. Congratulations Nicole and Jason, best wishes for your wedding next July!

Heidi and Chris are Engaged!!!

I had a fabulous time with Heidi and Chris on their engagement sessions. We did a little bit of Wrigley Field as Chris is a Cubs fan and then did a few pictures at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle. A little of urban vs nature, love it! here are some of my favorites, I look forward to their wedding in October!!

I had a great time photographing Lisa and Bryan in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago earlier this month. They are such a great couple, super sweet! We explored the Lincoln Park zoo, which was fabulous because I never seem to be in the area during zoo hours, and had some fun pics at Wrigley Field. It was great spending time together, getting to know each other better. I am looking forward to their wedding next June at Seven Bridges Golf Club!! I had a fabulous time meeting Jeff and photographing Renee and Jeff’s Engagement session in Mokena this past July. Going somewhere I have never been, always sparks new ideas. We went to an historic area, and explored all these old barns. We also went to this beautiful forest pereserve and set of old train tracks….we finished the session just as the rain came in. Jeff and Renee are so much fun, Jeff had me laughing the whole session. I am looking forward to thier wedding this Septemeber!!

I love exploring the city during an engagement session!! Penny and David are such a cute couple, we spent a beautiful Saturday morning exploring the loop, from the Wrigley building to Millennium Park. I just love how blue the sky is, fabulous! The image above is one of my favorites…its great discovering new places and fun “props” during a session. Here are a few of my favorites…..I am looking forward to their fall wedding this year!!

Rachel and Craig

I spent an evening with Rachel and Craig in the early part of June for a mini engagement session in Lincoln Park. We explored the parks and found some really great little spots for some fun and romantic images. Unfortunately the Zoo was closed already, which was sad because it was only 6pm, however we found lots of fun and unique spaces around the zoo and surrounding streets. Here are some of my favorites, I look froward to Rachel and Craig’s wedding in Kalamazoo, MI in August!!

I had so much fun exploring the Walter Payton Roundhouse out in Aurora with Penny and David for their engagement session. It is going to be a fabulous location for their wedding day, I am looking forward to all the fun places we found for wedding day pictures. From the RH we went to the Morton Arboretum in Lisle for some more intimate portraits, and some fun portraits with Davids daughter. The weather was perfect, and scheduling the session in the fantastic evening sunlight made for some really romantic images. Here are a few of my favorites…enjoy!!

Last weekend I got to experience a new place for an engagement session…which is always so much fun, I love exploring new places!! Courtney and Mike live out in the Bartlett area and wanted to have a session in the area that they grew up, met and started dating in. We went exploring in a forest preserve and found some very cool train tracks……kinda lead to an urban versus nature theme ( I love when sessions take on a life of their own:) …we also went for ice cream to talk about their wedding in August at the Brookfield Zoo.
