Carissa and Matt are Engaged :: Chicago Wedding Photographer

This post is right in time for the holidays, and editing their session today put me in the holiday spirit. Carissa and Matt had a very fun and festive engagement session downtown in Chicago. We explored the streets, visited the big tree in Daley center and other festively decorated parks. We got lucky to find this hilarious group of about 50 Santas and elves that were out parading the streets and parks celebrating the holiday spirit. I did have to embarrass this super sweet – and slightly on the shy side - couple by announcing their engagement via one Santa’s megaphone …that got the Santa’s going ( I think some of them may have dipped into the holiday egg nog pre-parade, lol;) These are my favorite shots from the day, too funny!! You can just feel the laughter )) Happy Holidays and Congratulations Carissa and Matt, I look forward to your spring wedding next March!!

I had a great time exploring the Wicker Park area with Cindy and Chris on a warm Saturday evening in October. Wicker Park is a special place for Cindy and Chris, they had their first date here and their first kiss under this bridge, such a cute story! Wicker Park is one of my favorite areas to explore, there are so many great places to go. I go the opportunity to get to know Cindy and Chris better as we explored the area for some great light.We had to seek shelter for a little while under the el tracks as it rained for a few minutes, but nothing was stopping us from having fun. Cindy had the cutest bright green umbrella and we had a great time getting some umbrella pics and some really great reflection pics. Here are some of my favorites. Congratulations Cindy and Chris, I look forward to your wedding next July!!

Anne and Brendan were married on October 3rd at the fabulous James Hotel in Chicago. What a fun couple!! Anne and Brendan met at a radio station in college, so they decided to have their first look at Reckless Records in Chicago. It was so suiting and so much fun!!! The t was off in a cab for some photo fun around the city, nothing was going to stop us…not even the rain. We did the bridal party photos in the beautiful Art Institute Gardens before heading back to the James for more photo fun and then a rest before the Ceremony…and then a lively and fun party with not a detail over looked. I had a great time with Anne and Brendan, here are some of my favorites from the day.

Vianna and Mark, a wedding day celebration

Vianna and Mark celebrated their wedding on September 26th. We had a full day of fabulous photos in the city, lots of fabulous locations over the course of 4 hours, before heading back out to the North west Burbs for the ceremony and reception festivities. Vianna and Mark wanted to break all the typical traditions and have fun with their pictures. We did a private first look between Vianna and Mark in Millennium park, then met up with the limo and Bridal Party for more photos at the Wrigley Building and surrounding loop and then off to Wicker Park for some urban off the wall photos. It was a blast!! We got some great images, and some really cool urban-grungy images…love it! We arrived back out to the burbs with time to relax a bit before the sunset ceremony and then of course the party!! Thanks Vianna and Mark for including us as part of your special day. Here are some of my favorites…enjoy!

I love exploring the city during an engagement session!! Penny and David are such a cute couple, we spent a beautiful Saturday morning exploring the loop, from the Wrigley building to Millennium Park. I just love how blue the sky is, fabulous! The image above is one of my favorites…its great discovering new places and fun “props” during a session. Here are a few of my favorites…..I am looking forward to their fall wedding this year!!

I spent the afternoon with Ashley and Vinnie, downtown for their engagement session last week. Vinnie works at Wrigley and both Ashley and Vinnie are die-hard Cubs fans….we started at Wrigley Field. The weather was perfect for a day at the beach, so we jumped in my convertible and headed for North Ave beach…..a change form our original plans, and had a blast goofing around and enjoying the weather. I look forward to thier wedding out in the burbs this Halloween. Here are some of my favs…..enjoy!!

Vianna and Mark

I met up with Vianna and Mark for their engagement session in Wicker Park and the Museum Campus last week. I was super excited to photograph this super sweet and fun couple riding their matching vintage bikes…a past time they enjoy doing together. We arrived at museum campus with just minutes before a thunderstorm…..but the sky was perfect for some fabulous skyline images and some amazing flowering trees. Vianna and Mark were such troopers, we even did some pics in the rain by some perfect tulips at Soldier field, all before running back to the cars….me soaking wet, protecting my precious baby (aka camera) from the rain with my jacket….. . I love how fun the pictures are….and I am looking forward to making an engagement book for this fabulous couple!! Here are my favorites for our session, enjoy!!

Sara and Mark

In late April, I met with Sara and Mark to do a portrait session. Sara and Mark are getting married at the Cultural Center on May 16th and decided to do their session before the day of….giving them less things to worry about on the wedding day. I had so much fun going around the city with this fabulous and super sweet couple, we went from the Cultural Center, through Millennium Park to the Art Institute Gardens….over to Buckingham fountain through Grant Park….finding some terrific off the wall settings and some beautiful spring settings. My favorite is the Van Buren Street Station Billboard…..it was just made for the moment!!

Kathy and Robby are Married!!!

I had the privilege of photographing Kathy and Robby’s wedding on April 18th in Chicago. It was a beautiful event, for such a super sweet couple. Everything detail tied together so well……and the stunning purple flowers everywhere…a perfect Spring wedding!! Christina, my second shooter, and I had a blast traveling around the city photographing this fun-loving wedding party…lots of laughing going on in that trolley!! Everyone was having so much fun. There was so much emotional energy that carried from the beautiful church ceremony to the reception, with heartfelt toasts and awesome break dancing sessions….the party ran late into the night! Here are just a few of my favorites……enjoy!!!
