This post is right in time for the holidays, and editing their session today put me in the holiday spirit. Carissa and Matt had a very fun and festive engagement session downtown in Chicago. We explored the streets, visited the big tree in Daley center and other festively decorated parks. We got lucky to find this hilarious group of about 50 Santas and elves that were out parading the streets and parks celebrating the holiday spirit. I did have to embarrass this super sweet – and slightly on the shy side - couple by announcing their engagement via one Santa’s megaphone …that got the Santa’s going ( I think some of them may have dipped into the holiday egg nog pre-parade, lol;) These are my favorite shots from the day, too funny!! You can just feel the laughter
)) Happy Holidays and Congratulations Carissa and Matt, I look forward to your spring wedding next March!!

In mid November I took a small trip to Philly and met Nicole and Jason for an engagement session. I had so much fun photographing in a city I did not know, it was both exciting and challenging. We explored, on foot and the subway, a handful of the sweet photo spots for some unique and creative portraits. We had a beautiful day, 70 degrees in November and fantastic sunshine that really showed off the last of the fall colors. We started on South street, which is the neighborhood that Nicole and Jason live in, from there we walked towards the city center, finding all kinds of interesting spots along the way. Of course we also had to hit the historic city hall and the famous Love Sculpture…Philly trademarks! I could not ask for a better day or a better couple!! Here are some of my favorites. Congratulations Nicole and Jason, best wishes for your wedding next July!

I had a gret tie getting to know Holly and randy better during their Chicago engagement session. we met at the Art Institute for the session. The Art Institute was where Holly and Randy had their first date in Chicago. The gardens were beautiful, even this late in the season. We also explored part of Millennium Park for some fun and silly pics before heading over the the Kinzie bridge for a quick photo at sunset. Holly and Randy are such a sweet and fun couple, I am excited for their wedding next August in Chicago!!

Leticia and Steven and I meet at their south side condo for the engagement session so that we could bring their dog with for some of the photos. Bear was so well behaved, and adorable! The park across from the condo was a perfect place to take a walk and we found some beautiful locations for photos near a pond. We also decided to go and explore places for wedding day photos, we went to the Chicago meat packing district, where there are some really interesting structures and railroad tracks. I had so much fun getting to know Letica and Steven, and of course their doggie Bear, and I am super excited for their wedding next October, on 10/10/10!!

Meghan and Steve had their engagement session at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle on a beautiful October afternoon. We had planned for this session two other times and had to reschedule do to some really bad weather, so I was very excited that we were given such an amazing day for photos. This was the peak weekend for color at the arboretum, there were so many places for us to explored together. We started out by the beautiful Lake Marmo and then headed to the west trails for some fabulous yellow and red colors. I had such a great time talking with and getting to know Steve and Meghan, they are such a sweet couple. I am very excited for their wedding next July in Chicago!!

I had a fabulous time with Lori and Chris during their engagement session at the Hyatt Mc Donald’s Lodge and Fullersburg Woods in Oak Brook. We had the best late afternoon, and the most amazing light at one of my favorite places to shoot out in the western burbs, Fullersburg. We originally started the session at the Lodge in Oak Brook, before security came to ask us to leave….staying true to my motto, shoot until they make us leave. It worked out for the better, we did most of the session over at Fullersburg, and I was happy we did as the fall colors and sunlight was perfect. I really enjoyed getting to know this super sweet couple and look forward to their wedding next June, congratulation Lori and Chris!!

Congratulations Cindy and Chris, I look forward to your wedding next July!!
