I am very thankful this year to be doing what I love with my life. As a way to give back to the wonderful people who make this possible I wanted to do something special this holiday season, reach out to someone in need and give the the gift of photos. Please read on below to find out what LMP is sharing this holiday season.
Happy Thanksgiving, have a safe and enjoyable weekend!!
You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.
You know someone. I guarantee it.
I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $500 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.
Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $100 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?
The rules:
* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)
* The nominee must reside in the Chicago Metro Area. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.
* You must e-mail me the full story : laura@laurameyerphotography.com.
The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!
Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.
With love,
Laura

Ashley and Vinnie were married on October 31st, 2009. A Halloween wedding, so much fun!! We had great weather for photos, although the wind that morning made us all a little nervous, by the afternoon the sun was out and the weather was very nice! We started out by taking getting ready photos of the gals at the Marriott in Downers Grove before heading over the the Church in Berwyn. The church had the most amazing afternoon light, a wedding photographer dream, made for some really beautiful available light photos. After the ceremony we headed out to my secret location at Fullersburg woods for Bridal Party photos. This was a fun and HUGE bridal party….and they were up for anything! The reception was at the

I had a gret tie getting to know Holly and randy better during their Chicago engagement session. we met at the Art Institute for the session. The Art Institute was where Holly and Randy had their first date in Chicago. The gardens were beautiful, even this late in the season. We also explored part of Millennium Park for some fun and silly pics before heading over the the Kinzie bridge for a quick photo at sunset. Holly and Randy are such a sweet and fun couple, I am excited for their wedding next August in Chicago!!

Leticia and Steven and I meet at their south side condo for the engagement session so that we could bring their dog with for some of the photos. Bear was so well behaved, and adorable! The park across from the condo was a perfect place to take a walk and we found some beautiful locations for photos near a pond. We also decided to go and explore places for wedding day photos, we went to the Chicago meat packing district, where there are some really interesting structures and railroad tracks. I had so much fun getting to know Letica and Steven, and of course their doggie Bear, and I am super excited for their wedding next October, on 10/10/10!!

Meghan and Steve had their engagement session at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle on a beautiful October afternoon. We had planned for this session two other times and had to reschedule do to some really bad weather, so I was very excited that we were given such an amazing day for photos. This was the peak weekend for color at the arboretum, there were so many places for us to explored together. We started out by the beautiful Lake Marmo and then headed to the west trails for some fabulous yellow and red colors. I had such a great time talking with and getting to know Steve and Meghan, they are such a sweet couple. I am very excited for their wedding next July in Chicago!!

I had a fabulous time with Lori and Chris during their engagement session at the Hyatt Mc Donald’s Lodge and Fullersburg Woods in Oak Brook. We had the best late afternoon, and the most amazing light at one of my favorite places to shoot out in the western burbs, Fullersburg. We originally started the session at the Lodge in Oak Brook, before security came to ask us to leave….staying true to my motto, shoot until they make us leave. It worked out for the better, we did most of the session over at Fullersburg, and I was happy we did as the fall colors and sunlight was perfect. I really enjoyed getting to know this super sweet couple and look forward to their wedding next June, congratulation Lori and Chris!!

I go the opportunity to get to know Cindy and Chris better as we explored the area for some great light. We had to seek shelter for a little while under the el tracks as it rained for a few minutes, but nothing was stopping us from having fun. Cindy had the cutest bright green umbrella and we had a great time getting some umbrella pics and some really great reflection pics. Here are some of my favorites. Congratulations Cindy and Chris, I look forward to your wedding next July!!
