I had the privilege of photographing Kathy and Robby’s wedding on April 18th in Chicago. It was a beautiful event, for such a super sweet couple. Everything detail tied together so well……and the stunning purple flowers everywhere…a perfect Spring wedding!! Christina, my second shooter, and I had a blast traveling around the city photographing this fun-loving wedding party…lots of laughing going on in that trolley!! Everyone was having so much fun. There was so much emotional energy that carried from the beautiful church ceremony to the reception, with heartfelt toasts and awesome break dancing sessions….the party ran late into the night! My friend Chris asked me to take some family portraits….he is also a photographer and I understand how hard it is to be in the pics if you are always the one behind the camera……and jumped on the opportunity to photograph his lovely family.  We decided to do some spring pictures at Fullersburg Woods in Oak Brook on a beautiful spring day. Henry is getting so big…….we took a walk in the woods and captured the spirit of family. Here are a few of my favs….enjoy!!!

Last week I spent a beautful and very sunny morning at the Arboretum with my friend Tracy and her son Jason, who is going to be celebrating his 5th birthday this month.  We spent sometime in exploring the arboretum and playing in the children’s garden center. I just love the many smiles of Jason….such a cutie and growing up so fast!!

Earlier this week I met up with soon to be high school senior Brittany for a city shoot. We spent a couple hours in Millennium Park, playing in the light, shadows and reflections to create some fresh and fabulous images that reflect Brittany’s fun personality. Here are a few of my favorites!!

Yesterday I spent the early evening with Meredith and Joe in the city for their engagement session. This was my first e-session of the year and I was super excited. It was a beautiful evening for photography, and a blast to hang out in Millennium park with this super sweet couple. We choose the loop and south loop area for the e-session because it was a special place for Meredith and Joe, now living in the burbs. We traveled all over, from the bean  to the planetarium, which was a lot colder and super windy….not what we expected! Here are some of my favorites…..I expesially love Meredith’s laugh….sooooo cute!! Enjoy!!

This week I was called by Turnstyle a design company based out of Seattle to do a photo shoot at Nordstrom at Oak Brook Shopping Center. The assignment, shoot candid images of the fabulous employees of the BP Department at Nordstrom. Natural light, totally natural poses…..not an easy feat, considering they have something like six different colored light bulbs showcasing the trendy and hip clothing lines. I am not allowed to use flash or stage the girls….talk about pressure:)

These Fabulous ladies are being recognized for excellence in sales and service. Selected photos will be featured in the Nordstroms in house company newsletter…but I promised the girls I would post my favorites on my blog so they could get a sneak peek….Enjoy and don’t forget to leave me some comment love!

Jeannie and Zak tied the knot at the historic court house in Crown Point Indidna on March 28th. Jeannie and Zak were such an outgoing and spontaneous couple…we went all over the place taking photos….rain or shine, nothing was going to stop us. The courthouse and then the reception site (the halls of justice) had some great nooks and crannies for photos….not to mention fabulous checkered floors!!  The MOH Krissy discovered this night club (The Blue Monkey) in the downstairs area of the venue that was decked out in white lounge chairs and fabulous blue lights, it was a hidden rather-funky-gem! Needless to say we took a ton of fabulous and fun–often funny– photos of this happy couple, these are my favs– enjoy!!

Karen and Gabe were married on March 27th at the Chateau bu Sche on the South side of Chicago on a beautiful March evening. There were so many wonderful moments between the families, Karen and Gabe with their two beautiful children, and all the family that came to celebrate.  Gabe’s Mother and siblings came in from Ireland to celebrate the joyful event, there was live music and fun dancing well into the night. In March I went to Jack house to take his one year photos……last time I photographed him he was in Mommy’s belly! It was a beautiful spring day and we spent a few minutes inside and the rest of the time taking some lifestyle portraits outside. I love the garage door at Steve and Michele’s home…..we had to take some pictures of baby Jack near it…so fun, and his little plumber’s butt is a scream….we were all laughing so hard:) Here are some one my favorites from the session!
